2017 Shows:

October 3-28, Wetlands Sketchbook, solo show, Collective Visions Gallery, Bremerton, WA
I have been sketching in nature for several years now with a black sharpie pen on watercolor paper. When in the field, I capture the essentials of a
composition and make color notes. Upon return to my studio, I apply watercolor to the sketches. For this solo show, my intent is to recreate the freshness and spontaneity of these original sketches. For my "paper" I made sheets of 1/8" thick 12" x 16" ceramic paper clay, and applied "watercolor" in the form of thinned down underglazes. The result is a fired ceramic tile that has the appearance of a watercolor on handmade paper, but is really a completely fired ceramic tile. Come see for yourself–you might even be fooled into thinking they are watercolors! 331 Pacific Avenue in downtown Bremerton. Three blocks from the ferry terminal.
October 6, Opening Reception during 1st Friday Artwalk, 5-8 pm.
